Six Team AMP runners braved the heat and the throngs that participated in the 2013 Surf City Half Marathon at Huntington Beach, California. The team was led by Team AMP coordinator Paulina Hong who clocked in with a personal record. Others in the team who participated in the event were, AADAP Administrative Director, Dean Nakanishi, Olympia Academy Director, Patty Abrantes, Therapuetic Community Intake Counselor, Maggie Fong, Team AMP member, Krysta Dugay, and Olympia Academy Counselor, Malcolm Hiponia.
The Surf City Half Marathon served as a tune-up run for the team members who are all participating in the LA Marathon on March 17, 2013.
Team AMP members at the Unity Run on Sat., Jan 12th, 2013 at Marina Del Rey
14 members of Team AMP came out for a Unity Run at Marina Del Rey on Sat, Jan 12th. All of the runners reached milestone long runs from 4.5 miles for a first-timer to 16 miles! Team members encouraged each other as each person pushed through their limits to reach their goal mileage. Bodies were sore and feet were aching at the end of the morning, but spirits were high as everyone looked forward to the 2013 LA Marathon.
